About Us

K.R.S Education and Rural Development Trust

Our work is important because it empowers marginalized communities, addresses social inequalities, and drives sustainable change by reaching people where systems often fall short.

K.R.S Education and Rural Development Trust, established on 8 March 1991 is based in Vijayanagar, Bangalore, & is a community-focused organization committed to inclusive and sustainable development. We work with marginalized women, children, farmers, and persons with disabilities to improve access to education, health, and livelihood opportunities. The Trust promotes sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and natural resource management. We actively support women’s empowerment, child protection, mental health, and skill development initiatives. Our programs also preserve India’s cultural heritage through art, music, and handicrafts. Through participatory and rights-based approaches, we strive to build resilient and empowered communities with dignity and equal opportunities for all.

Mission & Vision

OUR VISION

A just and inclusive society where every individual enjoys dignity, equal opportunities, sustainable livelihoods, and a healthy environment.

OUR MISSION

To empower marginalized communities through quality education, healthcare, sustainable agriculture, skill development, women’s empowerment, child protection, environmental conservation, and the preservation of cultural heritage using participatory and rights-based approaches.

Programs

Child Education Awareness

We promote child education by creating awareness among parents, communities, and schools about the importance of schooling. Our programs encourage enrollment, retention, and regular attendance of children, especially from marginalized families. We conduct campaigns, meetings, and interactive sessions to prevent school dropouts and child labor. These efforts help ensure every child’s right to quality education and a better future.

Community Development & Education

Our programs strengthen communities through education, legal literacy, sanitation awareness, and health education in rural and urban areas. We organize workshops, seminars, and study circles to enhance knowledge and participation. Special focus is given to adult education and child development. These initiatives promote informed, self-reliant, and inclusive communities.

Health Care for Elders

We work to improve the health and well-being of elderly people through regular health check-ups, awareness programs, and access to basic medical services. Our initiatives focus on preventive care, nutrition, and management of age-related health issues. We provide emotional support and guidance to ensure dignity and a better quality of life. These efforts help elders live healthier, safer, and more independent lives.
